William J. "Willie" Weido, 86, of Nemacolin, Pa., died at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2003 in Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa.

He was born September 8, 1917 in LaBelle, Fayette County, Pa., a son of John and Mary (Gottfried) Weido.

Mr. Weido resided in Nemacolin nearly all of his life.

He served with the United States Army during World War II and retired from the Nemacolin Mine.

Mr. Weido was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 6290 and the Greene County Citizens Club.

Deceased are two brothers, Steven Weido and Emery Weido, a sister, Margaret V. Weido, and his parents.

Surviving are a brother, Edward G. Weido and his wife Betty of Nemacolin, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Jean Weido of Washington, D.C.; two nephews: Jan Weido and Jerry Weido; and three nieces: Sandy Weido Smith, Peggy Weido Frye and Jeanette Weido Rhinehart.

At the request of William J. Weido, there will be no public viewing.

A graveside committal of his remains will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Crucible, Pa., at a time to be announced in the Spring of 2004.
