Retired coal miner from Carmichaels
Stanley J. Stapinski, 89, of Carmichaels, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. He was born December 10, 1912, in Macdonaldton, a son of Stasko and Susan Stapinski.
A retired coal miner, Mr. Stapinski worked at Robena Mine.
He was a member of St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church in Carmichaels, United Mine Workers of America and SNPJ. On May 17, 1941, he married Rose R. Krepelka, who died July 11, 2000.
Surviving are a son, Stanley J. Stapinski Jr. of Streetsboro, Ohio; two daughters, Rose Horwath of Streetsboro and Agnes Cormack of Front Royal, Va.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Kleinert of Erie. Deceased are two brothers, John and Joseph Stapinski; and three sisters, Anna Rose, Susan Martelli and Mary Umble.
