Ralph R. CUMMINGS (1916-1994)

Ralph R. Cummings, 77, of Nemacolin, Pa., died Wednesday, July 27, 1994 at 9 a.m. at home.

He was born Sept. 29, 1916 in Westmoreland County, Pa., son of the late John Sarah Dawson Cummings.

He attended Cumberland Twp. High School; was a retired coal miner with 44 years of service with the Nemacolin Mines; member UMWA Local 6290; a U.S. Army veteran during W.W. II he served in the Western Pacific and Southern Philippines;

a former member of Nemacolin Community Presbyterian Church; and was an avid golfer.

Surviving are his wife whom he married Dec. 24, 1942, Thelma Krause Cummings; two daughters: Mrs. Charles (Emily) Barnes of Salt Lake City, Utah and Mrs. Ajit (Sarah) Kapoor of Marshfield, Mass.; two grandchildren: Jared and Shalliny Kapoor, both of Massachusetts; and a sister, Emily Cummings.

Friends will be received in the BEHM FUNERAL HOME INC., RT. 188, Jefferson, this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with Rev. Carol Touvell officiating. Entombment in the Greene County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
