Mary T. Rapchak

Mary Tresner Cheresnye Rapchak, 91, of Lexington, Ky., died at 12:25 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2002, in Country Place Nursing Home in Lexington after a lengthy illness.
She was born September 14, 1911, in Proctor, Vt., a daughter of Charles and Julia Kaposta Cheresnye.
Mrs. Rapchak was a graduate of Brownsville Business College.
She was a former resident of Nemacolin and Crucible, where she worked as a bookkeeper and storekeeper.
Mrs. Rapchak was a member of St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church in Masontown and its Ladies Guild and St. Andrew Antiochan Orthodox Church in Lexington.
She was a homemaker and avid gardener.
On November 20, 1934, she married Stephen "Red" Rapchak, who died July 7, 1980.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Lou Schroeder of Surprise, Ariz.; two sons, Stephen C. Rapchak and Bruce E. Rapchak, both of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Susan Swetel, Brian, Chris and Heidi Swatty, Eric, Joel and Natalie Rapchak and Larisa Erwin; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a grandson, Nicholas Rapchak; a brother, Charles Cheresnye Jr.; and three sisters, Anna Cole, Julia Mattish and Helen Jackson.
