Billie J. "Bill" Schiffbauer

He was born June 24, 1921, in Rices Landing, Pa., son of Pansy V. Ringer Schiffbauer, of Nemacolin, and the late George W. Schiffbauer.
He was a 1939 graduate of Cumberland Township High School, Carmichaels, Pa., and worked at Nemacolin Mine as an electrician for 43 years before retiring in 1983.
He lived in Nemacolin most of his life and was a 60-year member of UMWA Nemacolin Local 6290 and a lifetime charter member of Nemacolin Volunteer Fire Co.
He is also survived by three sons and spouses, William P. and Dort Schiffbauer, of Stevensville, Mich., Robert T. and Susan Schiffbauer, of Carmichaels, and James B. and Linda Schiffbauer, of Nemacolin; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Linda L.) Voytek, of Perryopolis, Pa., and Mrs. Frank (J. Elaine) Voytek, of Uniontown, Pa.; a brother, Benford L. Schiffbauer, of Palatka, Fla.; two sisters, Donna M. Schiffbauer, of Nemacolin, and Mrs. Clyde (Jane) Walters, of Dover, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grand children and a great-great-grandson.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, M. Caroline Waggett Schiffbauer, whom he married April 1, 1942.
Friends may call at Yoskovich Funeral Home, 300 S. Vine St. (Pa. 88), Carmichaels, from 7-9 p.m. Monday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, with a Memorial service by Nemacolin Volunteer Fire Co. at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Ja n. 5, with the Rev. Roger C. Saunders officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Greene County Memorial Park.
